Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day, whatever you are doing. I haven’t done a weekend edition post in ages, but thought I would this week. This week has been fairly quiet for us as a family; Mr FC has been at work and I’ve just been at home. The weather has been a bit hit and miss so we haven’t done that much.
Frugal Toddler is loving going to nursery two mornings a week. He loves playing with all of the toys there, plus the big sandpit they have. He always seems to come home with his shoes full of sand – it’s a wonder there’s any left in it! Frugal Baby is also doing well – he is sleeping 11-4 each night and then bits in between, so it could be better but it could be a whole lot worse. I’m getting used to not a lot of sleep now. Lots of cups of tea and coffee help 😉
March is going well in terms of finances. We seem to be spending less this month and I feel more in control than I have lately. I’ve even managed to photograph some things to list on ebay – just need to set aside a bit of time to list them, hopefully later today if possible. I hate listing but it might bring in some extra cash which would be helpful at the moment.
I have also decided on what my second course is going to be, which I’m really excited about. I have already written one short course – Reduce Your Food Spend – but this one is going to be a longer, more in depth course. I have been thinking about the outline already, so again when I get a bit more time I shall begin writing. I will reveal all soon, but I am excited!
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) Watching Frugal Toddler have fun at a birthday party
2) Frugal Baby is starting to gurgle and giggle which is lovely.
3) Managing to have a warm cup of tea – little things 🙂
4) A block of sleep at a time; 5 hours or so is good for now.
5) Our family; we would be lost without them.
3 blog posts I’ve enjoyed reading this week:
1) The Remarkable True Story of a $146,194-Per-Year Income Portfolio at The Motley Fool. Imagine creating a passive income of that amount!
2) ‘Striking weaknesses’ in adult financial skills at BBC News. This is a worrying article 🙁 I need to make sure our two boys have a good understanding of money as they grow.
3) The Problem With The ‘Treat Yourself’ Mentality by Beth Sandland. Someone shared this article on my Twitter timeline and it’s an interesting read from a blog I’ve not read before.
And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about recently:
– Bacon, Pea and Mushroom Risotto – Slimming World
– Why Aren’t More Women Investing?
– Dividend Income February 2018
What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!
