Happy Sunday! Are you doing anything today? It’s been a strange week for us I feel, culminating in Frugal Toddler having a horrendous sickness bug this weekend which has totally floored him. It started on Friday night quite suddenly and it has meant that our weekend has been spent at home. Not that that’s a bad thing! But, I wish I could make him feel better. He is really miserable.
We went to look at some new kitchens on Thursday, just to get some ideas for when we need to make decisions about the new room. It’s so difficult to picture the space in our house as it doesn’t exist in that way yet, but looking round shiny new kitchens was nice. There are so many things you can get that I didn’t even realise existed! There was one we looked at which had a big American style fridge freezer with built in tablet thing in one of the doors; it was a massive touch screen IN THE FRIDGE DOOR. Why!??! Needless to say, we won’t be getting that.
Another thing we really need to get started with is actually clearing out and moving things around so that when the builders arrive next month they can get on without our stuff being in the way. Which means sorting through and making more decisions about things. I have definitely been putting this off; we have a lot of paper work in various places which needs sorting – and probably shredding – and I know it’ll just be a faff. I must do this.
Finally, as you might have seen if you follow me on Instagram and watched my stories, is that I’m actually seriously considering starting a YouTube channel. Am I bonkers?! I just think that it might be interesting to learn about and to add that to The Frugal Cottage brand. When I mentioned it I have had a lot of positive responses, so that’s a good start. If I were to start a channel, what kind of content would you like to see on there?
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) Looking at new kitchens!
2) Still plodding on with this book – it’s good.
3) Watching my boys play together.
4) Christmas cake and cheese.
5) Hot cups of tea
And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about recently:
What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!

Hi, I hope frugal toddler is much better soon. It’s awful when little ones are poorly, you feel so helpless. New kitchens, what a subject ! You look at so many that the pleasure quickly disappears. I refuse to be draw into the, what you should have in you kitchen rather that what you practically need. We all love the idea of fancy gadgets, American fridge/freezers, juicers, air fryers, dishwashers, mixers, blenders blah, blah, blah. We replaced most of our kitchen ourselves. We replaced unit doors, handles and work surfaces. But first we made a list of our real requirements, drawers, storage base and wall, work surfaces. It’s amazing what you really need. So really it’s a matter of preference. Good luck. Your idea of a you tube channel sound exciting. It’s lovely to be able to see and connect with the people who write amazingly helpful, informative blogs. Your diy journey would be an interesting start along with frugal hints and tips.
