What an busy week it has been! Work has been incredibly busy and quite stressful this week, so that appears to have taken over my life somewhat. There are times at work where it can be all-consuming and the days seem to fly by in a rush, fuelled by the hazy feeling of not enough sleep and not enough down time. Still, the thing I’ve been working towards for months has finally passed, and in a good way too; it couldn’t have gone better!
March has started off mainly positive, money wise. We’ve bought another piece of furniture and we’ve changed our mortgage deal so we’ve had an expensive first week. Hopefully this will balance out during the rest of the month, but I have a feeling that our savings rate isn’t going to be as good for March. Still, the new furniture looks good and has made a difference to the room it’s in, plus we’re hoping it’ll last for a good 20 years or so!
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) I have just started reading War Dog: The no-man’s-land puppy who took to the skies by Damien Lewis. Although I haven’t got very far with it yet, I’m enjoying it. A different type of book to the ones I normally read, but it’s good so far.
2) Fresh flowers in the house make it seem more Spring-like, even on a gloomy day.
3) I work with some fantastic people and feel lucky that I get to do what I do as a job. Not every day is good, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.
4) Peanut butter on toast for breakfast – I’d forgotten how much I like it!
5) A lazy Saturday where I did nothing; had a lie in, watched some rubbish on the tv and it was utter bliss.
5 blog posts I’ve enjoyed this week:
1) In My Kitchen by The Quince Tree. I like reading about what people eat during the week and Sue always accompanies her with amazing photos.
2) Dividend Income Update – February 2015 by Dividend Mantra. Continuing to do what he does, Jason provides us all with an update on how his plan is working. And boy, is it working!
3) Making Memories by Creative Countryside. A somewhat wistful post about childhood memories and a shift in priorities.
4) $23,758 in February Income by Making Sense of Cents. Michelle has another fantastic month!
5) Slow Cooker Korean Beef by Damn Delicious. This looks so tasty and simple to do – definitely on the “to make list”.
And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about this week:
– So You’re In Debt? What To Do Next. – a post about what to do about your debt, and where to go. Hopefully this helps someone.
– 3 Bad Money Habits: Money Confession – these three things are having an impact on my budget lately. Here’s my plan on how to fix that.
What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!

Nicola,
Thanks for including me. Much appreciated!
Michelle is killing it over there with the online income. I’m not even close to those kind of numbers. Very impressive. 🙂
Hope you’re having a great weekend over there.
Best regards!

Inquiring minds want to know … what have you been working on for months?! We love lazy Saturdays around here too. The kids often stay in their jammies all day. They deserve it!

Lazy Saturdays in jambes sounds perfect to me; what a lovely start to the weekend. Oh, the thing that we’ve been working on for months was just a team project which has finally been completed and signed off. Phew!
