This week has been a fairly normal week; both of us have been at work and nothing particularly out of the ordinary has happened. I feel like I’m on top of my work at the moment, which is a nice feeling – long may it continue! I mentioned last week that both of my grandparents were ill, but thankfully they are getting better slowly. Our week has been quiet as well; we’ve spent most of our free time in the evenings watching tv or a film and having a relax. I love weeks like this; it makes me love our little home even more.
I mentioned last week that about a car that we have found that is within our cash budget and that we’re thinking of getting it. Well, we have made a decision – we are! With any luck, we’ll have it in a couple of weeks, though we’ll have to get car tax and insurance sorted too so it’ll be an expensive time. However, a necessity at this stage, but we’re hopeful it’ll last us for a long time to come.
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) I finished reading Rhonda Hetzel’s Down To Earth book which was very inspiring.
2) A colleague bought in chocolate cookies on Friday which made the last day of the week so much better.
3) Hummus on toast is a surprisingly good breakfast, when it needs eating up!
4) I’m using this Sanctuary body butter for my bump and love it – it smells amazing.
5) Homemade spag bol with garlic bread – enough said. Carb cravings maybe?
5 blog posts I’ve enjoyed this week:
1) Asparagus, Fennel & Spinach Soup by Green Kitchen Stories. This soup looks so tasty and healthy!
2) I Just Put The Equivalent Of My Old Salary To Debt by Dear Debt. What a fantastic achievement; Melanie really is doing so well with her debt repayments.
3) The Three Rules of Self-Sufficiency and Preparedness by The Frugal Farmer. I love the idea of this; I hope one day we’ll be able to implement more of these ideas.
4) Turn $5 into $500 Challenge by Frugal Country Life. I also like this idea; I’m pondering something similar!
5) 10 Reasons To Escape Excessive Consumerism by Becoming Minimalist. This post pretty much sums up why I want to pursue a more simple life.
And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about this week:
– How To Declutter Your House Without The Stress – a post full of tips to declutter your home.
– Why Being Content Is Key To Happiness – a look at why contentedness is important in pursuit of real happiness.
What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!
