This week has been slightly different; it was a Bank Holiday in the UK on Monday so both me and my husband were off work for the day. We did some jobs around the house and went to buy a couple of things for the house. We also treated ourselves to lunch out, though it’s factored into our budget so no worries here. I’ve also been unwell this week, so I’ve felt extremely tired and lethargic for the remainder of the week. I’m so glad it is the weekend and I get to relax a bit more.
Apart from Monday, where we did spend more than we usually would at the beginning of the week, the rest of the week has been NSDs (No Spend Days) for me which is good. Definitely balanced out the spending! I love the fact that because all of our food is planned throughout the week, it means that no unexpected spending should crop up during the working week.
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) I have finally started to read Game of Thrones – how late am I to that party?! – and like it so far.
2) A lunch time date with my husband – it’s the little things that count.
3) Family meal out on Saturday night which was fantastic; good food and good company.
4) I made homemade lemon drizzle cake this week, which was great to have at work as a snack.
5) Feeling our baby kick and move inside me is such a strange and fantastic feeling.
5 blog posts I’ve enjoyed this week:
1) Dividend Income Update – April 2015 by Dividend Mantra. Some of my favourite updates are looking at different income streams; Jason continues to do fantastically well!
2) Smoked Mackerel on Sourdough Toast by Frugal Feeding. A perfect, simple meal for any day of the week.
3) Net Worth: $478,907.13 by Budgets Are Sexy. Another month, another net worth update! I’m so glad that some PF bloggers are so open about their net worth, makes me want to do better.
4) $32,474 in April – My Monthly Online Income Report by Making Sense of Cents. Another killer month for Michelle!
5) Freedom Fund Update – May 2015 by Dividend Mantra. Another post by Jason, but one focusing on his growing Freedom Fund – he’s so close to breaking the next barrier.
And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about this week:
– The Working Week Challenge – Complete! See how my challenge went here.
– Why I’m Aiming To Save 50% Of Our Income – an important, half-wishful aim of mine.
What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!
Dividend Mantra says
Nicola,
Thanks so much for including me… twice! 🙂
You’re too kind. I hope all is well over there. And best of luck with saving 50% of your income. I know you’ll get there.
Have a great weekend.
Best regards.
