Two things suddenly occurred to me the other day; the 2020 is only two months away, and that I had written my 2019 goals at the start of the year, and then haven’t looked at them again. So, those goals I wrote right at the beginning haven’t been glanced at. In fact, when I sat and thought about it, I couldn’t even remember what they were! Which is unusual for me; I like goal setting and usually have them to mind if I think about it. Not my 2019 goals though.
So I found the post and had a read through, so I thought I’d do a little review of them, as we only have two months of the decade left. Eek!
My Financial Goals for 2019 are:
– Put £8,000 into savings
– Overpay our mortgage by £2,200
– Have 220 NSDs throughout the year
– Earn £3,000 in side income
– Receive £1,000 in dividend payments.
These seem a bit ambitious now, but I’ll go through them and say where I am. So, for savings during 2019, I currently stand at £4,982.44 which, as you can see, is quite far behind! Now, this number doesn’t include October’s savings which would make that slightly better. But, at this point in time, I don’t see how I am going to get to the £8,000 mark, unless a miracle happens. Now, it’s a different story for my mortgage overpayments for 2019. In fact, I have already hit this aim as I have made £2,864.00 in overpayments during 2019. Yay! Still a long way to go there though… NSDS are up to 154 so I won’t meet my aim for this either. Struggled with these a lot this year, not sure why! For side income, I can’t actually work out my total yet. I might scrape the £3,000 mark, just. But I doubt it. And finally, I am track to hit the £1,000 dividend income 🙂
My Personal goals for 2019 are:
– Establish a better night time routine
– Spend some time just for myself, to relax.
– Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight
– Be more kind to myself
– Stop worrying about things I can’t change and focus on the ones I can.
I am getting better at going to bed earlier and not being on my phone just before bed. I’m not great at this, but I am getting better. Doesn’t mean I’m any less tired (!) but it does mean I am relaxing and winding down earlier on in the evening. This helps with the second point too; I’m not great at relaxing as I often have too many things on my mind. Trying to get better at this! Definitely going to be a work in progress going forward. I am nowhere near my pre-pregnancy weight, so I’ll just leave that there. And the last two are always on my yearly goals, as it’s something I need to remember to do.
My business goals for 2018 are:
– Aim for 40k – 50k page views a month
– Grow my Twitter followers to 4,000
– Grow my Facebook likes to 3,000
– Grow my Instagram followers to 3,000
– Grow my Pinterest followers to 3,000
– sort out email subscribers
– start a newsletter
I don’t get that many page views a month, though I’m happy with where they are for the moment. I don’t have enough time to dedicate in promoting/sharing really so part of that is my fault. My Twitter followers currently stand at 3,108 so I don’t think I’ll hit the 4,000 before the end of the year. My Facebook likes are currently 2,138 so again, unlikely to hit the 4,000. Instagram, which is my favourite platform at the moment has grown to 3640 at the moment, so I’ve hit that aim. I’m secretly hoping to hit 4,000 by the end of the year, but we’ll see. Pinterest has stalled at 1,319 followers but I never spend any time on there so that’s probably why. And finally, I have sorted out my email subscribers and have a newsletter that goes out every fortnight 🙂
So, as you can see, quite a mixed bag! Partly because I wrote these goals back at the start of 2019 and never looked at them again. Some of them were quite ambitious. I haven’t really cracked my social media strategy as of yet. One thing I didn’t even have on my aims which I’ve done this year is start my YouTube channel! 🙂 but definitely mixed. There’s things on here that won’t be achieved by the end of the year; almost certainly anyway. Unless a miracle happens! Which is unlikely 😉

Hello Nicola
Enjoying your blog and visit regularly for ideas and motivation!
Question: do you use or advocate the use of sites that provide coupons? On a recent visit there was an ad on the side bar for a PIGGY coupon site. What do you think of these?
Many thanks
