Hello April! I didn’t post my aims yesterday as it was Easter Sunday, so here they are instead. I can’t believe we’re already in the fourth month of 2018. How fast is this year going so far?! I seem to keep saying that a lot recently; I wonder if that’s a sign of getting older…
I’m really looking forward to April, mainly because we’re going away for five days in the middle. We’re going to Center Parcs with Mr FC’s family. I cannot wait! We went when Frugal Toddler was six months old, now we’re going with Frugal Toddler and Frugal Baby in tow. I know we’re going to have such a good time there. Yes, it can be an expensive place to visit but we’ll be doing things on a budget, I am sure.
Other than that, April seems to be quiet for us. Nothing much else planned at the moment. We are having a family photo shoot done at the weekend so that we can get some family photos of the four of us. The same lady did a photo shoot with Mr FC, Frugal Toddler and I when he was really little. Now it’s time to have the same done but with all four of us. I can’t wait to see the outcome of the pictures 🙂
Financial aims for April:
– Have 16 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £85
– Put £600 into savings
NSDs still seem to be  a bit of a struggle at times. Little spends keep creeping into our spending habits. This is lower than previous months, mainly because we’re away for five days and I have a feeling we’ll end up spending each day whilst we’re there. This is budgeted for though! The overpayment aim is going to stay the same each month throughout the year. I smashed this in March, but I don’t think it’ll be the same for April! The savings aim is the same as last month; it is lower because we’re now on a reduced income whilst I’m on maternity leave. Again, I did really well with savings in March but I will be surprised if we hit this in April – we shall see.
Personal Aims For April:
– lose 4lbs
– keep up with my bullet journal
– start reading The Year Of Less
I have managed to lose 11lbs so far in 2018, so I want to continue that downwards trend! This means just a pound a week weight loss which would be good and should be manageable, I hope. I put bullet mourning as a 2018 goal, but then promptly forgot to do anything about it. I sat yesterday and set it up for April, so it’s just a task of remembering to keep up with it. I really enjoyed sitting and taking the time to set it up whilst the boys had a nap 🙂 Finally, I bought The Year Of Less a while ago on my Kindle. I have finished reading The No Spend Year so I’m moving on to another book that is finance related. I read Cait’s blog regularly and am looking forward to starting her book. The reviews of it are very good!
What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

losing a pound per week is a great way of losing weight and keeping it off!!! I have been at it now since the last week of June 2017 and have lost 42 lbs in total, slow and steady………just heading out for my morning walk now, as I walk a lot as my exercise. I do a month end post about walking a my weight loss…….

Well done on the weight loss, always difficult when you are at home with little ones.
I think you have given me your 4lbs! So this month my aims are to go back to having treats only at the weekend. Hopefully that will help me drop the 4lbs I have gained in the past 3 months.

Good luck with your weight loss aim 🙂
