Hello December! One of my favourite months. I love the winter months and of course, December includes Christmas. It’s also my birthday, plus Mr FC’s birthday. Also, it’s due date month, if you didn’t know 😉
I feel like it’s going to be quite a busy month. Mr FC and I are away at the start of the month for a couple of nights which I’m really looking forward to. It’s then my birthday, although I don’t particularly want to celebrate getting another year older. But, hoping to spend the day with my parents and Frugal Toddler, so that should be nice. Then it’s operation baby which means getting as sorted/tidied/batch cooked as possible. Then resting! Plus Christmas and Mr FC’s birthday in there too.
But, as I do know this for a fact, by the end of the month, we’ll have a newborn to add to the mix. Eeek! I’m excited, but getting slightly more anxious and worried about how it’ll impact our family unit. I hope Frugal Toddler (which is Frugal Baby #1 just promoted) is ok with the changes. Plus, sleepless nights and general chaos to begin with.
Financial aims for December:
– Have 15 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £20
– Put £500 into savings
I am so rubbish at having NSDs at the moment, and I don’t think December will be any different. In fact, if I get 15 I’ll be very pleased!  As always, I am continuing with plodding along with mortgage payments, though I am aiming for less. This is less than I normally aim for too, in keeping with the month ahead.  I’ve also reduced my savings aim. I’m now on reduced pay as I’m on maternity leave and December is typically more expensive. Again, if I actually manage this number I’ll be very pleased. Way off what we need to be saving, but ho hum.
Personal Aims For December:
– the safe arrival of Frugal Baby #2.
I don’t think anything more needs to be said for this month. Just, when the time comes, everything goes to plan and we have a newborn safely in our hands by the end of it. Job done 🙂
