Hello December! My favourite month of the year 🙂 it is busy and there is lots on for us, but I love it. I cannot wait to get our decorations up and see the reaction of Frugal Baby plus Frugal Toddler is definitely aware of what Christmas is now and keeps asking to see more lights. It’s going to be good.
December is definitely busy for us though – we have a few birthdays including Frugal Baby’s 1st, plus it seems to be busy seeing people and visiting family. It is going to be that our budget is going to be more stretched than normal, even though we are going to try and be really strict on frivolous spending.
It might seem sad, but I am also looking forward to thinking about setting new aims for 2019. Sitting down and looking at numbers and thinking about where we might be in a year’s time. I have mentioned before that I do a budget forecast for the year, though I think I might trial a different way of budgeting going forward. We shall see.
I have also been talking to a friend about doing a make £10 a day challenge in December. So, making £310 before the month is out. I have so many things I keep meaning to sort out and hopefully there will be enough there to make a decent amount. Plus doing some online surveys too when I get  a few minutes. She’s excited to join me in this, so I shall keep you updated!
Financial aims for December:
– Have 12 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £185
– Put £300 into savings
I didn’t hit my NSD aim last month and to be honest, I think this month will end up quite spend-y. So, I’ve reduced my NSDs significantly. Hopefully I’ll manage more than this, but I’m not going to beat myself up if I don’t. If you saw this post last month, then you’ll know I’m changing our overpayment plans for the short term. I’ll also be amazed if we hit any savings this month. I find December difficult in that respect!
Personal Aims For December:
– enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Not much this month, just appreciate those who surround us and catching up with others.
What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!
