Hello December! My favourite month of the year 🙂 so many things that are good happen this month; there’s lots of birthdays (including mine!), Christmas and lots of family time thrown in there. I CANNOT wait 🙂 such a good time. Of course, there’s the usual work/school routine going on, but I do love this month. Although, I do keep thinking about the fact that it’s the last month os 2019 and the last month of the decade. It’s so weird to think that! At the start of this decade, our lives were so completely different. A lot has happened in ten years; I wonder what will happen in the next?
The obvious thing about December is that it’s going to have an impact on our finances. December is going to be a spend month, most definitely. If you’ve read my November review, then you’ll know I’m not at all prepared for Christmas. So far from it! Add in more birthdays and yes, it’s going to end up with a lot of spending. Next year, I intend to have a sinking fund set up for all of this; I just haven’t been organised enough this year. However, I’m hoping to still do well in terms of budget, and then start 2020 off strong.
My Financial aims for December are:
– Have 15 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Put £400 into savings
I have reduced my NSD aim as I know full well that these are going to be difficult this month. I am fully prepared to not hit this! That said, I am hoping to not go too over the top at the same time…. and with everything going on our savings aim for the month is also lower. I’ll be pleased if we hit this 🙂 we won’t hit our savings goal for the year now but that’s ok. I mentioned before that we have hit our mortgage overpayment goal for 2019. This is why there’s no aim for that this month 🙂 I might transfer over a tiny amount, but not aiming for anything.
My Personal Aims for December are:
– don’t get stressed!
As much as. I love this time of year, it’s also one of the most stressful. Fitting everything in, getting everything sorted – it can be very time pressured. So, I need to remember to try and stay calm and not get overly stressed; I want to enjoy it, after all 🙂 even little things like asking Mr FC to wrap presents as I am rubbish at it. Just to keep my mental health in check 🙂
Here’s to December being great! What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!
