Goodbye June! It honestly feels like it has been the longest month ever. Does anyone else feel like that? June seems to have just dragged on and on; I have not enjoyed it one bit. I’m not sure why either? Just lots of things going on plus it feels like we’ve had to spend a lot of money this month which I’m never happy about.
However, the building work is so nearly complete! Just another couple of things to get finished off – the radiators need to be put on and connected, plus a tiny bit of plastering – and the builders should be done. Then just the decorating and it’s all finished 🙂 in fact on Friday just gone I was able to cook for the first time using the hob. I cannot remember the last time I was able to cook! It made me feel so happy 🙂 once it is all done and decorated, I will do a little kitchen tour which I’ll put up on my YouTube channel.
In terms of finances, June hasn’t been great. We have had to pay out for a lot of things and inevitably that has had an impact on our overall spending and balances. I have got my new cash envelopes set up for July as I am determined to have a better month.
My Financial aims for June were:
– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £185
– Put £300 into savings
I have finally managed to have a decent amount of NSDs, even though it feels like we have spent all of the time this month. In fact, as of today (!) I have actually achieved 18 so I have hit my aim for the first time in ages. Woohoo! In terms of our mortgage overpayment, this is much lower than I’d have liked. I have overpaid our mortgage by £106.47 so less than our target. Finally, I have not put anything into our savings. Not much to say about that.
My Personal Aims For June were:
– take care of myself.
I have tried this month, so not succeeded at all times. Must do better!
