Hello June! A new month, which I’m hoping will be much better than the last. As the days tick away, our due date gets ever closer, so June will be about getting organised; sorting the nursery out and having a general tidy up/sort out of our house. Again, it is another month where both my and my husband are at work for the majority of the time, so it’s all about making the most of our weekends.
Every month I like to set myself aims for the month, to keep myself focused and to make sure I actually use the time during the month wisely! There are two sets of aims: Finance and Personal. May was a bit hit and miss for aims, so I’m hoping that June will get us back on track with our aims.
Financial aims for June:
– Have 20 No Spend Days (or NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £120
– Put £700 into savings
As I didn’t hit my NSD for May, I have gone back to 20 as a target for June. I think we’ll end up with some one off, bigger expenses, so it’ll take some planning, but I’m hoping I can get back on track with not spending during the week. Again, our new, reduced overpayment factors into our financial aims for this month. . Finally, as we didn’t reach our savings target for May due to spending more than usual, I have kept the number the same for June and I’m going to try my hardest to meet this, if not try to get higher than this. I am hoping that June will see us getting right back on track.
Personal Aims for June:
– try out a new recipe
– eat healthily
– get a new carpet for the spare room
I didn’t manage to make any new recipes in May, so I’m leaving this aim for June instead. Something fresh and light will probably be a better option, as I’m finding that big, heavy meals are not suiting me at the moment. I shall be having a look through all of the recipes I have saved to find something. Rather than say diet, or lose so many lbs, I’m just going to focus on eating healthily, everything in moderation so to speak. I need to make sure bump is getting enough protein and fruit/veg so that will come into consideration. Getting a new carpet was an aim for April and for May, but we didn’t get round to this, so this will need to get sorted in June, so that we can get the nursery sorted.
Do you have any aims for this month? What will challenge you the most? I’d love to hear from you!

Big heavy meals make me feel really sluggish and want to take a nap. Good luck with your June goals…Wow can’t believe we are so deep in 2015 already.

I will have to try to think more in NSD. I must say that in general I think we probably have quite a few in our house. However, I have never taken the time to work it out!
Good luck with your goals this month!

I am new here on your blog but wanted to say hi! I love the design. I like your idea of No Spend Days. I think I will try to incorporate these into my schedule too. June will be difficult for me as we are away for a couple of weeks and I won’t be able to eat without spending money, but I can cut back on spending while I’m home! Good luck with your goals this month!

Thank you for stopping by 🙂 I love NSDs as they really keep my budget in check.

Nicola, I am also having 15 NSD this month of June. This would be my third time to challenge myself again. The previous two were a bit successful. But, this month, I am gonna do it all the way.

Good luck – you can do this!
