Hello June! I always feel a renewed optimism when a new month begins. May seemed to be a bit tough for our household, so I’m sure June will be better. It’s what you make it, right? 🙂
The thing I’m most looking forward to in June is that we are away for a week in the Lake District with my parents. It’s a lovely area and it’ll be good to get away and have a change of scene. Hopefully the weather will be good and we can get out and about. Obviously, there will be expenses during that, but it’ll be worth it. After all, making memories is important 🙂
Not much else going on, although June is the last month of my maternity leave, which I can’t believe. It has definitely gone much faster the second time around 🙁 I’m going to try not to think about that too much. Just make the most of the time I have with my two gorgeous boys!
Financial aims for June:
– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £85
– Put £600 into savings
I am so hit and miss with NSDs at the moment. But, I am determined this month to be better (hmm, haven’t I said that before?) and hopefully will hit this. Though perhaps with going away I might be setting myself up to fail. We shall see! The overpayment aim is going to stay the same each month throughout the year. The savings aim is the same as last month; it is lower because we’re now on a reduced income whilst I’m on maternity leave. I absolutely smashed my aim in May though I’m not sure we’ll do as well in June.
Personal Aims For June:
– make myself a priority and take care of myself.
Only one aim for this month is to take care of myself. When things go slightly astray, I end up at the bottom of the pile, somewhat inevitably I suppose. But, when I forgo making myself a priority, I end up feeling worse. Things like not eating properly, not making sure I’m getting to bed at a reasonable time, doing my skin care routine before bedtime. It’s very little things, but they make a big difference to my overall morale. So, that’s my only aim for this month.
What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

I have started the job of totally decluttering the house. 3 days in and I am shattered. As somebody who works from home in the soft furnishings industry with a passion for textile arts and crafts the house had started to scream, ‘I am full!!’ Hopefully by the end of June we will be living a much more simple lifestyle!

Hmm my aims are to get my lounge straightened out (total tip at the moment!), get back to taking care of myself and get back to crafting and reading!

We’re off to the Lake District for my birthday in June as well. Staying near Nether Wasdale, love the western lakes area.
Hope June is a better month, sunshine always helps you feel better about yourself. And not being ill is an added bonus!

Thanks😊

Lounge is being nibbled away at, crafting (whistles quietly!) reading has started again, me – well doing my skin care again and started a healthy eating regime!

Oh the Lake District, one of my favourite parts of a trip many years ago! Enjoy! I am traveling to the UK this fall, staying near Cardiff and hoping to show my kids some of the places I love the most – like Caerphilly Castle, Caenarvon (sp?), maybe Tintern Abbey, Stonehenge, etc. Won’t have time for the Lake District on this trip, as we are also going to Iceland for a few days 🙂
