How are we almost at the end of June?! I thought I’d do another Life Update post, as it’s been a month since I last did one; the time seems to fly by so quickly at the moment.
The only thing I can focus on at the moment is the fact that I return to work on Monday 🙁 maternity leave this time has gone by so fast this time, much faster than it went last time I’m sure. Although getting back into some kind of routine will most definitely have a positive impact on our finances and I won’t be having to survive on maternity pay any longer, I’m really not ready. I suppose most people feel that? I’m not ready to leave my babies with someone else. I won’t be there to give them a cuddle if they cry 🙁
Also, I am typing this in the little self-catering cottage that we’ve hired as we’ve been in the Lake District this week. We have spent the week with my parents and I’m a little sad to be going home today. The weather has been absolutely beautiful all week, which is so lucky! Lots of walking and spending time outdoors was just what the doctor ordered. I have posted some pictures across on Instagram, but look at the blue sky here:
Another thing I am loving at the moment is the book I’m reading! I love a good thriller and I can’t work out what the ending to this is going to be. I’m about half way through but really want to get to the end to find out what has really happened, which just shows! It’s called Friend Request and is £4 on Amazon 🙂
In terms of our finances, June seems to be a bit of a wash out. I have hardly got any NSDs and I keep spending, on some very unnecessary things too. There doesn’t even seem to be any excuse as to why, so July has to be reigned in a lot. Has anyone else struggled in June? In my No Spend Month Challenge group on Facebook, a few people seem to have had a tough month.
What about you? What exciting things have happened to you lately?

Best of luck with the return to work. Am sure your class will be delighted to see you and the staff room does have benefits (biscuits and a hot cup of tea?! My overbiding memory of some early parenthood was permanent collection of half made and half drunk cups of tea 🙄🤣) June has been a tough month but onwards to July!
