The last time I did a Life Update post, it was the beginning of the summer holidays and lots of family time planned. That seems like a lifetime ago! Things seem to change a lot around here, though I suppose with two young children that’s bound to be the case.
Firstly, Frugal Baby is now 11 months old! How is that possible?! He has got such a laid back, cheeky personality – the complete opposite to our first one, which is a surprise. I think I expected them to be similar? Who knows, but at the moment they definitely aren’t. His new thing is to pull himself up on any piece of furniture and cruise along; he’s so pleased with himself. Babbling along as well, with lots of new noises and pointing at things too. We’ve been talking about his first birthday and what we’re going to do for that – time needs to slow down, please!
Something that I am thinking about a lot at the moment is the fact that I should be more organised about Christmas! I normally have some general idea about what to get people by now, and have often bought some presents already which are hidden in our house. This year, so far, I have bought one present. One! So I need to buckle down and get that sorted.
I am becoming more conscious about our consumer footprint and want to bring less into our homes. Also, to look more at quality vs quantity (which I also touched upon when I got rid of 85% of my clothes) and sustainability of items. I definitely want to get some wooden toys for the boys this Christmas, if I can. On a purely selfish note, I am going to be ordering myself some of these as a treat towards Christmas time 🙂
Another thing this week that made me smile is that I finally hit 1,000 followers on Instagram! Thank you if you follow me on there 🙂 I’m not great with social media to be honest, and can be very hit and miss in terms of posting, but I love it when I get more followers. Come and say hi over there!
I have also rejoined Slimming World. I was using the excuse of not going to eat everything in sight, which has not been a good move. When I follow the plan, it does work for me and does make me feel better. So, I rejoined last week. Not entirely sure it’s the best idea when we’re in the run up to Christmas, but I need to do something. I’m just taking it day by day at the moment, and not thinking about how much weight I have to lose.
Finally, we are running another competition over on our deals Facebook page – to win a bottle of Christmas gin! If that sounds like your type of thing, then pop on over and enter 🙂
What about you? What exciting things have happened to you lately?Â

Thanks for sharing about your life update! It’s a way of knowing a bit more about who is behind the blog 🙂 Will definitely follow you on Instagram as well. See you there!

I think starting Slimming World in the run up to Christmas is actually a really good idea. You are more likely to be focused during this time and less likely to fall off the wagon over the festive period. Fingers crossed you’ll start the new year a few pounds lighter and motivated.
I am so behind on Christmas this year it’s scary. Really need to get cracking on buying/making presents and also organising who we are seeing and when – that usually takes a few weeks of negotiating!

I’m hoping so, though with all the Christmas food around it’s going to be tough! Everyone I talk to seems to be behind on Christmas preparations this year, so at least we’re not alone 🙂

My nephew has lots of wooden toys I did see Lidl selling some this week which has tempted me to buy him one for Xmas
Nicola says
Oh, what were they in Lidl? I might have to take a look 🙂

Thank you, on both accounts! 🙂
