Hello March! February seemed to fly by, but ended up being much more spend-y for our finances, so I’m hoping to pull this back a bit in March. March is generally quiet for us, though it’s our wedding anniversary at the end of the month.
But, the big thing happening this month for us is that our extension work finally begins. I will admit, I’m really anxious about how this will go but it will absolutely be worth it in the end. Not sure how having lots of people in and out of our house for weeks on end will feel, plus having no kitchen, but hey ho. It’s not going to be forever, I need to remember that!
The end result should mean a much more useful space downstairs, due to redesigning the downstairs space. We will also finally have a toilet downstairs, which will be so helpful on a morning, especially with a newly potty trained three year old! It should all be finished by the summer 🙂 eek!
So, I’m hoping to have a frugal month during March. I’ve got my March budget planner all set up to track my spending, so I’m ready 🙂
My Financial aims for March are:
– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £185
– Put £670 into savings
I managed to meet my target for NSDs in January and then missed it in February. I have upped it by one as it’s a longer month. I think that if I have a good start to the month, then the rest will follow. I am so determined, plus I think that filling in my budget planner every day will help. I’m hoping so  our mortgage overpayment aim will be the same each month from now on. And lastly, a very specific number into savings, which will be the same every month this year, I should think.
My Personal Aims For March are:
– survive the start of the building work.
This might seem like an easy aim, but I really have no idea what to expect and I am nervous about it. I’m sure it will all be fine but you never know! I’m just hoping that we’re not without a kitchen straight away.
Here’s to March being great! What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

Just want to get myself back on track health and money wise!

My aims are to enjoy our first staycation and sow some seeds for the vegetable patch and flower border – gardening is such an enjoyable and relatively cheap pastime and we will be able to reap the rewards later on in the year.
