The Frugal Cottage

Living the good life on a budget.

November Aims

November 1, 2019

Hello November! Another new month, as we get closer towards the end of 2019 and the end of a decade. It can’t just be me that finds that strange!? I love the colder months, although it seems very dark when I’m driving home from work now; something that’s not so nice about it I suppose. November should be a regular month for us, though I need to get sorted for Christmas. We also have birthdays in December so I need to think about those this month! Writing this now makes me feel like November might be an expensive month….

Finances wise, I haven’t uploaded a November budget planner. That’s because I’m actually changing how I’m doing things and I have been looking at offering physical products instead of the digital downloads. I’m really excited about this! I’m in the process of designing a new type of planner and things, ready for the new year. I will keep you updated on this! I want to use it first to make sure it works and is easy to use; so look out for videos on my YouTube channel about that soon 🙂

My Financial aims for November are:

– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)

– Put £600 into savings

I’m going to keep the NSD aim the same for this month, even though I know I’ll have some spend-y days in there. I think in some ways it might be easier when it’s cold and miserable as I won’t want to go anyway! I suppose that doesn’t stop me from spending online… fingers crossed for this one. I just need to be more mindful about my spending. And the savings aim will be the same as always. If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll notice that there is something missing on these aims – a mortgage overpayment aim! As I said in my October review, I have actually hit my overpayment goal for 2019 so I’m going to leave it for now until the new year. I don’t think I’ll be able to do no overpayments at all, maybe just a few pence 🙂

My Personal Aims for November are:

– start to get organised for Christmas

– stick with the plan!

These are the same as last month, as it didn’t go entirely to plan. I am hoping to have made a good start on buying things for Christmas by the end of the month. I’m also planning on doing the Foodbank Advent challenge like I have in previous years; a post will be up on that next week. And finally,  the last thing is something private that I don’t want to share on here, but I just need to stick with it, that’s all 🙂

Here’s to November being great! What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

Enjoy your writings! I too have done post in similar style though just added personal finance to site. I’m going to work on creating, I may try the ‘account tidy’ and trying to prioritise my saving. At moment I 1. need a 5 door car as baby getting bigger n super awkward and can’t move her out quickly if need to. 2. A bigger emergency fund 3. Money to study and have a career change (instead of going bk to joyless low wage job unless I need to). Sooo yeah I need to prioritise!!!
