Hello October! I am so looking forward to the cooler months. Snuggling up on the sofa watching films. Hot chocolates in an evening. Cosy jumpers and blankets. I can’t wait for the darker evenings 🙂
We have a couple of family events on during October. My cousin is getting married at the start of the month and it’s my Grandpa’s birthday at the end of the month. I can’t wait to catch up with various family members. We’re all across the country so don’t get to see them very often. Of course, Frugal Baby gets to play with lots more people too! Both of these events will cost us money (obviously) but with careful planning I’m hoping it won’t impact on our overall finances too much.
Other than that, I think it’s fairly quiet for us. Which is never a bad thing! I really do need to be sorting through some of our belongings and either sell/charity/throw them out. But then, haven’t I said that before? I also want to start thinking about Christmas and getting some presents bought. Although my due date is at the end of December, who knows what might happen! We need to be sorted by the end of November, ideally so that there’s no last minute panic.
Financial aims for October:
– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)
– Overpay our mortgage by £50
– Put £800 into savings
In September, I finally hit my NSDs aim for once. I’m hoping to repeat that success for October! I just need to be more organised and plan things better 🙂 As always, I am continuing with plodding along with mortgage payments, though I am aiming for less. This is because I want to continue building my investments and dividend income. I hit my savings aim for last month too so I’m keeping it the same for October. If we manage this, alongside family events and starting Christmas shopping, I’ll be really pleased.
Personal Aims For October:
– get the newborn baby clothes down from the loft
– finish the book I’m reading
– book a pregnancy massage
In a bid to get more organised, at some point during October I want to go through all of the newborn baby clothes we have stored in the loft. Once Frugal Baby outgrew these we put them into storage. However, I can’t remember what we have in there! I’m looking forward to doing this 🙂 this is the book I am reading at the moment and it is taking me ages. By the time I get to bed I can’t actually be bothered to read. But I think it helps me night time routine so I want to get back into reading before bed. Finally, as I get bigger towards the end of pregnancy, things get more ache-y and painful. I want to treat myself to a pregnancy message at the end of the month 🙂 something to look forward to!
That’s it! Here’s to October being great ?
