So, we’re getting towards to the end of 2019. By this time next week, Christmas will be over and it will be time to look ahead. So, in the spirit of looking back and reflecting on the year gone, I thought I’d share with you the most read posts here in 2019.
10. Should I Attempt A No Spend Year? Written at the end of the last year, I was musing the idea of a No Spend Year. I’m still tempted by this, to be honest! This comes in at the tenth spot for the most read posts this year.
9. My Updated Portfolio – June 2019. One of my most requested posts – an insight into my dividend income portfolio! This is due another update again; I’md elating on whether to do a six monthly update each year on this so you can see just what I have in my own portfolio which pays me four figures every year.
8. How To Start Meal Planning When You Don’t Know Where To Start. An older post now but still one of the most read here at The Frugal Cottage. All about how to start meal planning and tips on how to reduce your food spend. This comes in at the eighth most read post this year.
7. How To Save £12,000 A Year. Interestingly, lots of searches bring people to this post. Obviously wanting to save more money! I got a bit of back lash for this post saying it’s unachievable. And yes, I’d be inclined to agree. WE don’t manage to save this much a year, but I can hope!
6. My 10 Minute Budget Routine. When I talk about tracking our finances, I’m a pen and paper person. You have to find what system works for you, but it really shouldn’t take long at all. This post details just how I keep track of our finances in 10 minutes.
5. How To Have Fun This Summer On A Budget. This is actually a guest post by another blogger who shared it across various social media channels, which I think helped get this to the number 5 spot. A great read though, with lots of helpful tips!
4. 5 Easy Ways To Spend Less. Another post which brings quite a bit of search traffic. Lots of people are wanting to spend less, which is a good thing! This goes through some easy ways to implement so that you should spend less 🙂
3. 5 Simple Living Blogs You Should Be Reading. Another older blog post but the third most read this year. Self explanatory, though it really should be updated.
2. Frugal Foods To Buy To Keep Your Grocery Costs Down. Another food related post, this is the second highest read post here at The Frugal Cottage this year. A great post for what to buy as a starting point to reduce your food spends.
And in the top spot…. Bacon, Pea and Mushroom Risotto – Slimming World. A recipe post! I hardly have any recipe posts on here as I don’t really think of myself as someone qualified to talk about recipes. However, this easy risotto is one of our favourite meals and it is so simple to make. You could easily make this vegetarian if you take out the bacon. This has been the most read post on here this year. I thought this was surprising!
So, there we have it. The 10 most read posts of 2019 🙂 thanks for reading and commenting on my posts, I really do appreciate it.
