Hello, it’s me.
The longer I put off writing the post, the more difficult it is to put into words how I feel.
I started The Frugal Cottage way back in 2015, with the aim of helping other people with their money. It soon became a joy to write on, plus it was inspiring to read other blogs. I then found the FIRE movement and the focus shifted.
But, I am now struggling with what to do with my little corner of the internet. For so long my focus on here, although helping others at the same time, was to document our journey to early retirement. Investing, dividend income, and everything else that was to do with time way in the future.
Now, that has all changed. If you haven’t watched it already, then this video explains what has happened.
My future isn’t certain. Not at all.
At the moment I am fighting to keep my life as stable as I can, whilst having many things happen in real life. Keeping my head above water, with my children, work, blog, YouTube, Etsy, and everything else. And it’s working! In fact, it seems to be getting slightly easier. I am seeing that maybe I can do this, that perhaps I am more capable than I give myself credit for.
But, what about here at The Frugal Cottage? This is the blog that started it all off. Without The Frugal Cottage blog, I wouldn’t have any of the other stuff. The 24,000 Instagram followers. The 12,000 subscribers on YouTube. The 1,100+ Etsy orders. None of it.
So, what about the future of The Frugal Cottage?
Well, as my focus for this year is back to basics, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. The Frugal Cottage was born out of a desire to help other people with their finances. It may have strayed over recent years but the core focus of that is the same. In fact, perhaps even more cruical in the current circumstances.
So, here we go. The Frugal Cottage 2.0. Thanks for sticking around if you have.
