Look at this – a Weekend Edition post two weekends in a row! Back when I first started The Frugal Cottage, I wrote a Weekend Edition post every weekend, without fail. Then children came along and time (and energy) became severely lacking and they fell by the wayside. I am hoping to do them slightly more regularly.
So, here we are. This week has been a bit strange; Mr FC has been ill and off work. He has rested and seems to be much better but it’s tough when it’s a man down. Then on Friday, I got the phone call every parent dreads. If you follow me on Instagram and saw my Stories, you’ll already know but I got a phone call from nursery to say that Frugal Toddler had got a head injury and should probably go to hospital. So I left work and indeed, he did need to go to hospital to have his head glued. He’s ok now and I’m hoping it doesn’t leave a scar.
It did mean that me and the boys had a quiet Saturday at home whilst Mr FC was at work. We played together, watched some cartoons and had a lovely, slow day. Even with the weather poor outside, it didn’t matter. I love days like that, plus the boys are now starting to be able to play together, which is even more lovely to watch.
Of course, it’s also been Black Friday. Did you buy anything? I bought a couple of Christmas presents that I had my eye on that were reduced, so I’m pleased I waited. I also bought another couple of things from some independent shops which I cannot wait to arrive. I’m hoping to get most, if not all, of of Christmas shopping done and sorted by the end of November.
Talking of Black Friday, my popular Reduce Your Food Spend course is on sale this weekend – a massive 70% off! If you’re wanting to reduce your food spend, manage food waste and start building a stockpile, then take a look. If you enter the code BF2018 at the checkout, then it’ll apply the discount 🙂
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) Homemade brownies, bought in by a colleague.
2) My boys playing together
3) Managing some hot cups of tea!
4) Watching Mamalina on Youtube – such a lovely family and definitely inspiring!
5) Snuggly mornings in bed with Frugal Baby, before getting up to start the day.
