Happy Sunday! Are you doing anything much today? I don’t think we will be, to be honest. In last weekend’s post I mentioned about Frugal Toddler having a horrible sickness bug. Well, on Sunday after Frugal Baby started with it, and at the beginning of the week both Mr FC and I caught it too. Needless to say, it’s been a tough week in our household!
Luckily, we have both sets of parents that we could call on to help with childcare; it is not fun trying to look after a three year old and a one year old when you’re ill yourself. Thankfully, they were able to come and help out. Not so positive, they have also caught the sickness bug. So it’s done the rounds! Frugal Toddler still isn’t great but getting there. It’s really knocked him for six.
So, our week has been a bit of a wash out really. Not done anything, not gone anywhere. On the plus side, we haven’t spend much money either. In fact, as we come to the end of the month, I have been taking a look at our finances and we have been much better at not spending than we have been as of late. Writing things down has definitely helped me with that focus. I’ll talk more about this in my January review post 🙂
ETA: I’ve now got my first product in the shop here! I have uploaded my February 2019 Budget Planner as a PDF download; this is the one product I am using that is helping me consistently win at budgeting and feel more and more in control of our finances. Have a look here!
5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:
1) Having parents who are happy to help out when we need them.
2) Still plodding on with this book – it’s good.
3) Watching Toy Story with my boys 🙂
4) Being able to rest.
5) Getting back to *almost* normal.

So sorry you’ve all been ill. Really does knock you for six and throw plans into disarray. Hope you feel very much better soon.

I finished reading Pete Matthew’s Meaningful Money book over the weekend, it’s a great read off the back of his podcast.
I’ve also used January to re-work some of my finances, which meant setting up a Marcus account so I could shift my savings there (from a 123 Current Account) and that should allow me to pay myself before I spend any money. I was spending too much money in 2018 because I thought I’d save what I had left, but this doesn’t work. In 2019 I’m going to pay myself / save first and then budget for what’s left over.
